Save the Date!
Ever leave an AP Workshop filled with so many new ideas and effective input strategies, but realize that you actually picked up many of them from other participants in the workshop?
It is this realization that has guided my colleagues and me to host an EdCamp AP, which is based on the EdCamp technology model that has been so effective in the education community.
Joliet West High School in Joliet, IL will be hosting an EdCamp specifically designed for AP courses. This "un-conference" will take place on Saturday, October 17th, from 8-12 and will look to attract teachers from all across the AP course spectrum, from Pre-AP Language Arts to AP Art History to AP US History, and everything in between.
This will be a great opportunity to discuss pedagogy, lessons and unit plans, and to develop a network of AP teachers who you can access throughout the year. Remember that this is an EdCamp, so there is no set agenda, just the topics you and your colleagues would like to discuss.
This is obviously in the developmental stages, so please check back periodically to receive further information about this one of a kind event.
The cost is free and 4 Professional Development hours will be provided so feel free to spread the word to your fellow AP colleagues and see you on October 17th!
